Robert Wilhite is an energy industry leader with 35 years’ experience in business strategy, operations, energy efficiency, consulting practice development, executive leadership, and industry visioning.

Over the past several years, Mr. Wilhite held P&L responsibility for managing and profitably growing global consulting practices focused on business strategy, policy and regulations, grid modernization, distributed energy resources, and operational effectiveness. As a recognized industry leader, Mr. Wilhite has been active as a board member in numerous associations, establishing senior executive relationships, and recruiting and developing senior-level talent in a professional services environment.

On a global basis, Mr. Wilhite has often advised energy clients in achieving increased efficiency in strategic and master planning, operational effectiveness, grid automation, and technology strategy and implementation. In addition to utilities experience, he has also developed growth and market entry strategies for competitive retail energy firms, equipment suppliers, private equity firms, government agencies and municipalities, and industry policy groups.

Mr. Wilhite co-authored KEMA’s first book, Utility of the Future: Directions for Enhancing Sustainability, Reliability and Profitability.

He serves as a board director and executive committee member for GridWise Alliance, also serve as vice-chairman for the City of Belmont’s Environmental Sustainability Board, and as co-chair of the technology & innovation pillar for Dentons’ Smart Cities & Community Think Tank.

Mr. Wilhite is recognized as one of the top 25 consultants in the U.S. by Consulting Magazine in 2009. He has also been cited as one of the Networked Grid 100 Movers and Shakers of the Smart Grid by Greentech Media in 2012, as well as participated in President Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness in 2011.
